Linus Day!

Well it was fantastic to see lots of faces today supporting us on Linus day,
we also had a little raffle to help raise funds (thank you to everyone who donated prizes)

Lets see how we got on :)

This is a group photo of everyone and their beautiful quilts in total (if I have counted right)
we donated 19 quilts to Linus, plus there were two pack left, that were taken home
with two quilters to be completed, so a whooping 21 quilts!!
 
Well done to everyone who got involved on Wednesday and a big thank you
to Heather (from Linus) for coming to our little village hall and letting
us get involved with this fantastic charity!

Quick Reminder


Linus Day Wednesday 24th September
 
Just a quick reminder that our upcoming Linus Day is very soon, also there
will be a little raffle with lots of lovely prizes, so if you are coming to the Linus day,
 bring your pennies :) or if you have anything to contribute to the raffle it will
 be much appreciated.
(raffle will be drawn on the day at before lunch)
 
 

Final count down to Linus!

First things first, it was a very special day today, because our Margaret is celebrating her 80th birthday!! So we were all very lucky not only did Margaret bring fresh cream cakes, but Wendy made a beautiful chocolate cake to!  :) I hope you had a lovely day Margaret.

Back to business, well we now have less than a week until Linus, and everyone is very excited.

On the day, the lovely lady from Linus will come with lots of packs ready made with fabric, cut binding and even thread in! All ready for us to sew together and finish ready for this fantastic charity. Also it doesn't mater if you don't finish your quilt on the day, you can take it home to finish, because we know everyone works at a different pace :)

So lets see what happened on Wednesday

 
Wendy brought this beautiful Sun Bonnet Sue Quilt with her today,
which her friend has made and hand quilted it!


Annette is quilting her fabulous heart quilt, which is going to be a
gift for someone special!
 

This is one of Wendy's beautiful Linus Quilts which is
nearly finished :)
 
 
Aunty Beryl has been cutting up lots of beautiful fabrics ready for next week

 
Cathy is still working very hard on her fabulous bargelo quilt.
It's going to be a whopper!!! :) 


And me, well I only had half a day today :( (as my little pudding has stared
big school and was only doing half a day) so I quilted my little quilt.

A Little Note

Christmas Baubles Reminder

Our Christmas Bauble workshop will be on the Wednesday 1st October 2014  
 
 
If you would like to make these beautiful baubles you will need
 
*Poly balls or eggs
*Craft pins (lots)
*Glittery fabric
*Braids
*Ribbon
*Craft Knife
*Store/Credit card
and any other fancy bits you may want to use!
 
And if you don't want to make them that's fine, there is plenty of room for everyone!

This Wednesday we are all busy again with all our lovely projects


Cathy has been working very hard on her fabulous Bargelo Quilt,
She has a few more strips to put on the edges, then she will be ready for sandwiching.
 (where she will but the top, backing and wadding together like a sandwich!)
 
 

Wendy has been quilting one of her many Linus Quilts, this one is been
 quilted with wobbly lines! 
 
 
This is another of Wendy's projects, (which she designed her self!)
I love how it looks different up close and from a distance :)
 
 
 Irene has been working on a prairie point cushion cover, this is the start,
I can't wait to see it finished!
 

 
Merilla has been working on her Linus Quilt, making these beautiful
blocks all by hand!
 
 
and me, I've been working on my I spy Linus Quilt

Linus Preparation and Woolly Dollies :)

Well this week was another busy week, our lovely new lady Ethel has brought 2 little friends with her  today, her beautiful woolly Santa,
                   
                                                
 
And also her fantastic little prince,


Ethel was in the middle of making her woolly princess, hopefully we will
 have some pics next week 
 

Cathy has been knitting her funky hat, it is taking a bit longer
because our Cathy has to do it properly!!!! :)
 
 
Wendy has made another lovely Linus Quilt, she has just
 got to quilt and bind it ready :)

 
Margaret has been making more blocks for our communal quilt for Linus, 
I really cant wait to see it finished!!!!!!

 Our fabulous Kate has not only made 1 bag, or 2, bags not even 3, but 6!!!
bags today WOW!!!!
 

Maggie has brought all her alterations with her today,
2 pairs of trousers and her jumper :)
 
 
Wendy has also been working on her turkey red embroidery, which look fantastic,
this is an "I wanted to make it, so I will" project :)
 
And me well I was cutting ok pieces for my Linus Quilt so I'm ready :)

Go nuts for Doughnuts!!

Well today Annie Pie popped in to say hello and she brought doughnuts :) Well it made my day!(some people would say I have a little sweet tooth but I have about 32!!) ;) Also our dear friend Angie (The Quilting Guru) popped in to say hi, which was nice :)

Anyway back to being creative,

 
Annie Pie also brought a long these gorgeous little mitten book marks, she is just going to add some lace to the top to finish them off :)


Cathy did half a day of quilting, and the other half trying to Knit her new hat, she had
a little advice from our new member Ethel :)
 

 Wendy is preparing for Linus day and is putting blocks together ready for
 this fantastic cause :)
 
 
Annette has also been working on blocks for Linus (loving these colours)

 
Wendy is on another little project, as we were placing them together we
noticed 3 mistakes, can you spot them? I love this pattern using the log cabin style.

 
Wendy also brought a long this lovely Christmas table  runner
 (its never to early)
 
 
A lot of the ladies here have cupboards, rooms even, full of crafting
literature, books, patters and things. so we have put together a little
library off patterns and books which people can lend and get
inspiration from :)
 
And me, well I had a bucket to make using several mini charm packs
 

I had a space that needed filling at home so Ta Dar!!!!!!
