No one loves a fairywhen shes old

Well this Wednesday is our last Wednesday of the year, :( and its our Christmas party!!!

First Wendy brought a long a little friend, and this fantastic poem to share with us

NOBODY LOVES A FAIRY WHEN SHE'S FORTY

(written by Arthur Le Clerq - 1934) Billy Cotton Tessie O'Shea

For years a fairy queen I've been
For years I foiled the Demon King
But alas I'm getting on the years have flown somehow And I feel that Fairy Snowdrop isn't wanted now

Chorus Nobody loves a fairy when she's [forty] fifty Nobody loves a fairy when she's old

She may still have a magic power but that is not enough They like their bit of magic from a younger bit of stuff When once your silver star has lost its glitter
And your tinsel looks like rust instead of gold
Fairy days are ending when your wand has started bending
No-one loves a fairy when shes old

For years I reigned in Fairy Dell
I waved my wand and waved it well
If I can't do all I did Im satisfied because
                                                         I'd sooner be a Has-Been that I would a Never Was
                                                         Nobody loves.... Nobody loves..

there is several more verse but after an hour of trying to get them neat and straight , then when applying them to the blog, the lines going where ever they wanted! I gave up! sorry,
you can easily find the rest of this fantastic poem on the web if you wish to read it. :)

Harrogate Knitting & Stitching Show

WOW!!!!! Well we all had a fantastic time yesterday at the knitting & stitch show, there were loads of beautiful things there and I cant wait to share them with you,

There were lots of quilting stalls, and the lovely lady at Puddle Ducks let me take a picture of her fantastic stall, and if  you see anything you like on this photo or would like any more information about any of the quilts, you can visit them at www.puddleducksquilts.co.uk

There was a fantastic bear which another lovely lady had knitted!!! WOW!

There was a section where you could go and have a sit down and do a bit of knitting!

There was another lady demonstrating how to use a knitting machine!!

There was another brilliant lady, Clare Bullock, who was demonstrating wet felting, and I couldn't resist this beautiful brooch she had made!! :)

-------------

There was also a gallery section, where people were showing off there wonderful creations

This is a wall hanging made from wet felt in the Black Sheep Felt section,
she was also showing,

Needle felting where someone had created a skull of her teddy!

and the best bit about this exhibitor, she had a section where you could touch and feel all the
different felt work and explore all the different textures!!
If you would like any other information about this fantastic work visit
blacksheepfelt.wordpress.com

Another fantastic exhibition was The British Tapestry Group, which had lots of fantastic pieces
and a chance for you to have a little try at tapestry to!

there was a fantastic tapestry in this section that was representing the sea

Another super gallery was shared by Ann Small who was showing
textile & mixed media art, who had created this outstanding owl,

and also these curios little boxes

and Sue Walton who works with felt, she had created these fantastic
spoon fairies,

 and these superb felt trees

these had little windows in the top section with bits in :)

-----------------

Another beautiful exhibition was done by Jo Beattie, its hard to describe these
creations so it a good job I took some pics

these were done on fabric,

they were hung away from the wall with a light shining through them,
they created brilliant shadows on the wall!

this piece was over a meter wide but i wanted a close up of the
stunning details :)
------------
Someone else who was demonstrating, was this brilliant man,
who was weaving, using his feet!!!!

Another man was showing us how to do marbling, this was fantastic also,

we had a chance to have a go, then could keep the finished result! Fab!
We were that excited about the marbling, that Wendy brought us a kit so I can
see a marbling workshop/ play day coming soon!!

I think I saved my favourite till last, this lovely lady, Tania Sneesby
