A quilt will warm your body and comfort your soul!

Quick reminder (cause I forgot!) :)

PAT Testing next Wednesday on the 13th!!

Well today we had a busy little village hall, with lots of busy bodies doing all sorts of wild and wonderful things!!!


             Chris has been making another table runner, this time it is a beautiful Christmas one
                                                              (it is never to early!!)

 
This is where Cathy is with her fabulous Bargello Quilt, I really cant
 wait to see this finished, this is going to be a gift for her Daughter :)

 
Margaret is still working on her granddaughters beautiful stripy quilt in
 lovely blues, reds and whites :)
 
 
Margaret also had time to make this wonderful pillow.


                                             Maggie was just playing in her fabric box today
                                                 (sometimes you need one of those days!!)


                                        Wendy is making another funky bag, she said, and I quote
                                          " these are like Swiss Army Guards Knickers!!
                          Well I think I looks fab and might have to pinch it when its finished!! :)

 
                          Irene has almost finished her beautiful table runner, she has just got
                                               to a bit more quilting, then Tar Dar!!!
 

   Well we have a Tar Dar!! for Kate, she has completed her fabulous Simon Henry
workshop inspired bag, the top picture is the piece she created in the workshop
 then the bottom picture you can see she has made a matching panel! then very cleverly turned 
them in to a beautiful bag! Tar Dar!!!
 

And me well I turned these unused cot sides
 
 
and up cycled them in to this fantastic book shelf for my daughter!
(with a little a little help as usual)

Twin needles!!

Well today we have had another treat, Wendy met a new friend and her new friend shared some wisdom about twin needles and let Wendy borrow two sample pieces to show us!! 
(All the quilting below is done using a standard Janomi sewing machine)



                                     Wow can't wait to have a play and try some of these!!

Chris has finished her beautiful table runner top and made her sandwich, 
here she is cutting her crusts off :) 

                Cathy is still cutting and piecing her lovely Bargello she is taking her time
                                                    and enjoying herself :)


And me well I found a "sew your own cow" kit in my stash so thought I would give it a go :)

Well this Wednesday we were treated with fab fairy cakes thanks to Merilla to celebrate a new baby girl in her family :) they were very yummy!!!

                        Last week you may remember Wendy make a fantastic blue crochet hat,
                        a few people asked at the club how she made the flower so she very kindly
                       did a little tutorial for them :)
       
                                     

               Wendy also had time today to make this fantastic bag!! I am so making one of those



                 Anne pie has  been working on her beautiful Bargello in these lovely autumn colours

Nothing beats home made scones and jam :)

Well we had a fantastic treat Wednesday our dear Wendy brought with her some fantastic home made scones, jam and clotted cream :) Yummmm!!!!! Also we were really busy today so I have loads of pictures to share, lets have a look


Well we do all sorts of thing here at the Quilt Club, Cathy needed to alter the
length of her leggings so with a little advice she was well away!!
 

Lynda is like a bag making machine!! here is another fantastic
bag she has made, Tar Dar!!
 
 
Jenny has made this gorgeous bag, she has created the pattern herself,
What a clever girl!!!  


Jenny has been really busy and has created this fantastic card
for a Alice in Wonderland themed party

Aunty Beryl has been a busy bee to as you can see, she has made
 four brilliant blocks for her scrappy quilt and is in the middle of joining them.
 

                                This is yet another of Lynda's beautiful bags This is going to
                                                             be a Birthday present!!


                                         Margaret is making this lovely stripy quilt for her
                                      grand daughter, I can't wait to see it all put together :)


Wendy is in the middle of yet another quilt, this is made with
 25 small squares, I am really loving these colours together
 
 
Marilla has been very busy to, she has put all theses fantastic blocks
together by hand!!!


Annette has been working on this beautiful lap quilt for her hubby,
 I think its going to look brilll!
 
 
Kate has made this fabulous bag for her sister, which is reversible,
 using the fabric from the bow, I did have another photo which got deleted :(

Cathy has been putting together her lovely Bargelo Quilt,
I think she is doing really fantastic!!!!
 
 
Wendy had been busy Crocheting and has made this fantastic hat!!
Think I will have one in Cream Wendy!! And a big thank you to the model!!!!
 

And me well my little monkey is leaving her nursery,
so I made a discussion cushion, its a take off the I spy quilt
but a bit smaller ;)

Quality not Quantity

Well lets see what the lovely ladies at Caverswall have been doing this week,

 
Well Chris has come today with this this fabulous owl, she got the
 pattern from a magazine, she is planning to make 6 more!!


Wendy is pinning her beautiful Bargello, She is taking advantage
 of all the space here and our big tables, next its the quilting :)


Irene has had inspiration from the colours on my Simon Henry workshop piece,
and loved the mix of red and white fabrics so she has being playing today,
 she doesn't know what she is going to do with this lovely block yet but I cant wait to see :)
 
 
Jenny is still working on her fantastic bargello, her next step is to piece it together :)

And me well I've been finishing my pillows, personally I don't think they look
right and they may need something else, but I know if I take them next
week there will be lots of help and support there for me to make them perfect.
 
 
I also made this funky pillow as a birthday gift, loving the pompoms!!!

Dates for you Diary Up Date

Linus Day Wednesday 24th September 2014

Good news everyone a date has been set for our very important Linus Day, it will be on the 24th September 2014

"Project Linus UK is a volunteer organisation, We aim to provide a sense of security and comfort to sick and traumatised babies, children and teenagers through the provisions of new home made patchwork quilts and knitted/crocheted blankets, and give volunteers across to UK the opportunity to contribute to their local community" (Quote from www.projectlinusuk.org.uk )

I have only had the pleasure of one Linus Day and the buzz and excitement of everyone getting in evolved and doing what they love for this fantastic cause is amazing,

Also another date for your diary

Pat Testing is on Wednesday 13th August 2014 
 
This will be at the village hall so if you need your machine testing this is the date!

Hang It High Keep It Dry!!!!

Well we have loads to look at so lets take a look, the title today comes from Wendy, we had so much to hold up and share that this became relevant (not that we have wet floors) I just found it funny :)

Well Cathy has been really busy, and you will agree that she has done
 a fantastic job doing her piecing for her bargelo trip around the world, :)

 
After weeks of procrastinating Irene has come across one of her
 UFO's (Un Finished Objects) and decided to finish her Crossed Log Cabin Quilt,
 
 
 Irene ran out off fabric for the back (as you do) so decided to do a fancy back :)
 
 
Wendy has made this lovely little Linus Quilt and has just got to finish quilting it :)
 
 
Wendy is also in the middle of quilting her fab Bargelo trip around the world quilt,
I think they are breeding at the moment in the village hall
 
 
Wendy has also done a funky back, this shows you that your creativity
doesn't have to stop at the front :)

 
Wendy has just finished this fantastic Court House Steps Quilt
(who said you could do to many projects at one time?!!)
 

She has quilted this quilt from the back following the swirly pattern,
so its another Ta Dar!! for Wendy :)
 
 
Chris has made another fantastic table runner for a friend
 with all the commissions going to her local church :)
 this one is in different shades of green.
 
 
And me well its that time of year when the children are leaving school,
 so I have been instructed to make some gifts for 3 different teachers!!
 so this one is having a mug rug
I did have a little help with the beautiful picture and the writing.
